Hysteroscopy

The hysteroscope is a small, lighted telescope used primarily for visual examination of the uterine cavity.  It may be used to help diagnose and treat intrauterine abnormalities, including polyps and fibroids.  Other indications for hysteroscopy include a history of infertility, recurrent miscarriages, or abnormal uterine bleeding.  Hysteroscopy is also used for placement of the Essure device.

The doctors at Advanced OB/GYN can discuss with you if a hysteroscopy is a helpful procedure.
